What Is Satsang?

What is Satsang?
Today we want to talk about spirituality – or rather: about what it means to us. Because sometimes, when you mention words like "Satsang", "awakening" or "spirituality", you notice people looking at you sideways. Many associate them with something foreign, esoteric or even out of touch with the world. And that is exactly why we'd like to share a few thoughts here. What is it, really, that we mean by spirituality and Satsang?
For us, spirituality is not esotericism.
We don't believe in concepts of angels, energies or other worlds. We don't believe at all – because real spiritual inquiry begins exactly where belief ends. For us, spirituality is not an escape from reality, but a radical immersion in what truly is.
Satsang literally means "being together in truth". And that is exactly what it is about: coming together, becoming still, putting aside everything we believe ourselves to be – and directly exploring what is really here, right now.
It's about reality.
Not the reality in our thoughts or ideas. But what shows itself directly and immediately – in perception, in the body, in the breath, in hearing, in feeling.
Spirituality as we live and teach it is the exact opposite of being aloof. It is deeply human, physical, present. It is a path right into the middle of life – not out of it. Not into higher spheres, but right here. Into this moment. Into this stillness. Into this clarity that we cannot make, but that is there as soon as we stop searching.
We also call it: reality research.
Because really we are not "spiritual teachers", but an expression of life itself – researchers of the living truth. What is it that lets you wake up in the morning? What is it that is there when all thoughts come to rest? What is it that feels, hears, sees – now, in this moment?
This is not a theoretical question. It can be experienced. Directly. Without detours.
And yes – it takes wakefulness.
Not in the sense of effort. But an awakening into what has always been here. In our retreats and Satsangs, it's not about giving you new concepts. It's about letting go of everything that keeps you from recognizing what you truly are.
No mantras, no religious rituals, no spiritual stories. Just this moment. And the willingness to let go of everything that isn't real.
The body helps us with this.
Because it is always here. When we feel it, we arrive in the now. The body brings us out of the movie in our head and into life. It shows us that even form is constantly changing – and that precisely in this, something unchanging becomes tangible: that which was never born and never dies. Our true nature.
Satsang is a coming home.
Not into a new idea. Not into a better version of yourself. But into what you are – beyond all the stories about yourself.
Sometimes this means allowing everything you believed about yourself to be destroyed. It can be painful, because we are so attached to our ideas. But it is also incredibly liberating. Because what remains when everything false falls away is what you have always been.
You are not alone in this.
Perhaps you have wondered why you long for depth. For real encounter. For stillness. Perhaps you were smiled at for it. But this very longing is the call of life itself to recognize itself.
And you are allowed to follow it. Without having to explain yourself. Without having to justify yourself. Perhaps it helps to hear that you are not crazy – you are simply waking up to what truly is.
**What we share in our Satsangs and retreats is this:
The truth can't be "thought up". It can be recognized.
Not later. Not somewhere else.
But here. Now. Within you.**
If you'd like to find out more about Satsang, experience us live or online.
We look forward to meeting you.
