Awakening

Awakening goes beyond consciousness
The consciousness we know is limited by the body, by thinking or by life. It experiences conscious and unconscious moments. It dreams, is awake, lives and will pass away. It is not possible to find your true nature in consciousness. That is why the search for the self is so frustrating.
No I, no ego, no higher self, no eternal observer, no God – nothing that lasts will you find in consciousness. No matter how deeply you investigate, what you find is always just a fleeting appearance, a persistent image or a clever thought. Your true nature, however, remains hidden.
What your true nature is cannot recognise itself through consciousness. Everything you recognise in consciousness is only ever a fleeting appearance.
Recognising this in the depth of truth allows a gap in which your real being begins to explore itself. Yet it is not exploring as we know it, but the appearance of a clarity and intelligence that has no knowledge and no goal.
What you are is not a state of consciousness; it has no qualities, is neither good nor evil, is neither a feeling nor a thought. Consciousness can never recognise it – it has to recognise ITSELF.
In this awakening you realise that every consciousness dissolves back into yourself. You recognise that all states of consciousness happen in you and out of you, and yet never limit you. You experience that all being and non-being is at home in you.
Your true nature is the insubstantial source of every appearance and of life itself. It cannot experience itself, for it is UNEXPERIENCEABLE. It is so close to you that you cannot see it, feel it or become conscious of it. Without your true nature there is nothing, and everything that appears and passes away is born of it.
Your true nature is the freedom that, in the form of life, experiences limitation without ever being limited. You are not love, not peace, nor God. No name can reflect what is true. You are the existential Absolute from which Everything springs. You need no consciousness to be, no life to live, no God to create, no death to let go.
Everything that appears in the world is inseparably woven together with you. You cannot point to anything other than yourself, and yet only the Absolute can recognise itself as your true nature – the created form can never lay claim to the Absolute.
