A Glimpse into the Bodywork Retreat

The art of touch – a glimpse into the Art of Deep Bodywork Retreat
When a new retreat begins, there is a special energy in the room. People come with curiosity, hope, sometimes also with pain or unresolved questions. And right from the start, a field of trust can be felt. This field is the foundation of our work – and it is more than a method. It is an attitude, a listening, a deep feeling.
Many participants share right at the beginning why they are here: because they are too much in their heads and want to feel themselves again. Because relationship issues or inner tensions may heal without words. Because they long to find their way back – to intuition, to softness, to real touch.
The essence of Art of Deep Bodywork
Art of Deep Bodywork has grown out of many years of experience and thousands of sessions. Pratibha & Kareem have learned a wide range of body therapy techniques – from craniosacral work and fascia work to Rebalancing, Thai yoga massage, Trager and Shiatsu. But they soon realized: no technique alone is enough.
What heals is not the technique.
What heals is the quality of touch.
Art of Deep Bodywork is not about "doing something" or executing a method correctly. It's about truly feeling the person – beneath the skin, beyond the muscles, all the way into their emotional layers.
**"We don't touch in order to do something.
We touch in order to feel."**
This simple but radical shift changes everything.
Touch as feeling
A central experiment shared right at the beginning of the retreat is the "water bottle experience". A bottle is taken in the hand – not with pressure or technique, but with softness, with the whole palm, with presence. After just a few moments, perception begins to deepen: you feel not only the surface, but the coolness, the weight, even the liquid inside.
It's the same with the human body. When we don't "touch in order to do", but "touch in order to feel", another dimension opens up. The person feels seen. Accepted. They sense: here is someone who truly perceives me.
Healing through becoming aware
Many forms of therapy work – but often the essential part remains unconscious. A session can relax, can release energetically, but if the person doesn't notice what has happened, it stays superficial.
In Art of Deep Bodywork, healing happens consciously. The client is invited to feel tensions, to perceive blockages, to witness the moment of letting go. This creates self-empowerment: the body remembers how healing happens from within.
That's why this work goes so deep. It's not about "doing something for the other". It's about feeling together with the person until their system finds its own way back into balance.
The attitude behind the method
- Less technique, more feeling – the less the head steers, the more the body can respond.
- Presence instead of concept – new in every moment, without a plan, with an open hand and an open heart.
- Depth through softness – true depth doesn't come from pressure, but from surrender.
- Awareness instead of dependency – healing happens when the person themselves feels what is possible.
In the retreat we create spaces in which you can dive deeper – into the stillness of your body, into letting go of old tensions, into the healing power of real touch.
Because touch is more than technique.
It is an art – and at the same time our most original language.
